Ingredients

Scale
  • Cake:

    • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
    • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 4 large eggs
    • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
    • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
    • 1 cup whole milk
  • Buttercream Frosting:

    • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, softened
    • 4 cups powdered sugar
    • 3 tbsp milk or heavy cream
    • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
    • Food coloring (pastel pink, blue, yellow)
  • Decoration:

    • Edible pearls, fondant bows, piped lace details
    • Piping tools (star and round tips for intricate designs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  3. Combine flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Slowly mix into wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
  4. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let the cake cool completely before decorating.
  5. Prepare the buttercream frosting. Beat butter until creamy, then add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  6. Apply a crumb coat to the cake. Let it set, then add a second frosting layer for a flawless finish.
  7. Use a piping bag with decorative tips to create vintage swirls, rosettes, and lace details.
  8. Add final touches with edible pearls, bows, and custom text. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • If you don’t have a heart-shaped pan, bake in a round pan and cut into a heart shape.
  • Add cocoa powder for a chocolate version or strawberry puree for a pink-tinted cake.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
